Carrie Underwood is set to honor TV's past at this weekend's Emmy Awards.
The ceremony will feature a segment recognizing TV milestones from 1963, which was a breakthrough year in TV history.
Don Cheadle will host the segment, which will include tributes to TV's coverage of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, TV's rise to surpass newspapers as the public's primary source for news, and the launch of Beatlemania.
Underwood will cap off the segment with a performance of defining songs from the era. The 65th annual Emmy Awards will be presented in a ceremony Sunday, airing live on CBS at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
